so i guess its day 1.
its kind of unfortunate we didnt blog last week... it was an awesome week for me with workouts and i didnt even get to brag about it online. bummer.
today i went to pilates. and ran. i know youre thinking... "pilates? jess? really? whaaaat?"
this is fair to think this.
HOWEVER i am not a pansy. i really like it. it helps me with my flexibility and breathing... and made my tummy muscles tighter. and im the youngest person there- easily by 10 years. makes me feel youthful and athletic. love those pilates bitches. they are in constant awe of my muscles. who wouldnt enjoy constant praise?
so pilates was good today. i have a "perfect plank." thank you teacher megan.
then i ran.
not nearly as much fun: i certainly dont LOOK good while im doing it. and there arent older women there to compliment me along the way. boooooooooo running.
i ran 2.8 miles. not very impressive but i was tired. and this was a hilly run. and it was hot. and really, all things considered, id worked out for about an hour and a half by the end of my run. better than nothing i suppose.
so, genie has to post pictures of my traumatic fall last week. it hurt. long story short, im running and a car beeps its horn at an inopportune moment. and i fall. HARD. and bust open my knee and hand. and hurt my wrist. suuuucked. i had to run the last mile home with blood pouring out of my orfices.
side note: there is one homeless man in the entire state of connecticut. HE HAPPENED TO BE HANGING OUT IN FAIRFIELD as i complete this run. he sat on a bench, pointed at me as i ran/limped/whimpered by, and said "youre bleeding. youre bleeding. youre bleeding."
NO SHIT.

Oh Jess, my old (tear) roommate. This could only happen to you! Hope the knee, hand and other body parts are doing better. Good luck with the training!
